COOK ISLANDS CYCLONE THREAT REMAINS; SAMOA ALERT CANCELED
APIA, Samoa (February 14, 1998 - Radio Australia)---Weather forecasters have canceled a cyclone alert for Samoa. A tropical depression had formed east-north-east of Samoa, but has begun to move away from the Polynesian country. There is still a chance the depression will develop into a cyclone, Radio Australia reports, but it should pose no danger to Samoa.
Meantime, a cyclone alert is still in force for the northern Cook Islands, where a tropical depression is slowly intensifying between Suwarrow and Nassau islands.
